Polly was on the League of Women Voters board during
the time that I was president, around 1969, 1970, etc. She, like many on the board at that time were mothers of young children - Polly more than the rest of us.
I never knew her not to get her portfolio of work done on the date it was due, and it was well done. She had at least seven excuses to beg off, be late, get it half-done, or quit altogether.
In addition, she was interested in what others on the board were doing, never interrupting or cutting someone off, and always, always, the listener, then the doer.
I shall miss her as a person and as a public servant terribly. She was the last of the old fashioned no hidden agenda citizens whom we need so desparately. Farewell, our good, loyal, and faithful servant. Alice Heath
