Mission Statements

The purpose of the League of Women Voters of Greater rockford shall be to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government and to act on selected governmental issues.

National Mission

The League of Women Voters, a non partisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

LWVIL Diversity Policy

The League of Women Voters of Illinois, both in its values and its practices, affirms its beliefs in and commitment to diversity and pluralism. The LWVIL recognizes that diverse perspectives are necessary for responsibile and effective decision making in democratic organizations. The LWVIL affirms its commitment to

• removing barriers to participation in any League activity on the basis of age, race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion or national origin; and
• actively seeking to be inclusive.

1. Establish media/PR committee and plan- Communication Chair, leader.

4. Draft annual calendar- Board.
5. Implement action committee planning- Executive team.
