Education
Support of a public school system that is equitable both in quality for all students and in financing for the tax payer. Support the implementation of action plans as developed in partnership by school personnel and citizens at large.
Crises in the Community
Support policies and programs through organizations and coalitions that promote the well-being, development, health and safety of all children. Intent to focus on prevention of crime and violence by supporting activities of the Family Violence Prevention Collaborative.
Encompassed in this position are the following factors: mass transit, economic base, private reinvestment, quality education, jobs, housing, gun control and related factors.
Local Government
Support position:
Election Services in Winnebago County. Improved election services should be provided to all citizens of Winnebago County. The most effective and efficient method is to consolidate administration of elected services into a county-wide commission created by the enactment of the State of Illinois enabling legislation.
Continuing support positions:
Support provision of adequate juvenile justice facilities, services, and alternative community-based treatment and service.
Support County Home Rule.
Support Urban Counties Options Act.
Support City Home Rule.
Support Community Development Programs.
Support County Board Size Reduction .
Natural Resources
Support year 2000 plan. Support Sanitary District User Fee and Compliance with Federal Guidelines. Support improved Waste Management.
